If you want to drive in Turkey please do so but you will need to change your concepts of Driving
The overiding concept is to drive very defensively and to expect the totally unexpected. We guarantee it will happen.
Many Turkish drivers use there horn as it was originally intended as a warning device, and not as a sign of anger! so please do not take any offence at a horn.
Roads in the Fethiye area are improving dramatically and very quickly. One great assett is that new roads are very wide making it much easier to avoid the unexpected.
At traffic lights you will be cut up but it is not to instigate a race. They may even stop a few yards down the road. Road rage is very unusual except in British new drivers to Turkey. Drive defensively and do not try to British force driving and you will be fine.
